A Long Season

The game's not even over yet, but I can definitely state with authority that Iowa State is going to lose to Northern Iowa tonight. We could be back to the days of 0 wins here as I'm not sure there's anybody on the schedule that the Cyclones could beat. I don't know what defense they're trying to play, but UNI has rolled up 265 yards of offense through three quarters while completing 83% of their passes.

Did you watch this one, too, Nate? What are you seeing?

Naw...this one wasn't on the internet, or any tv for that matter. It's probably a good thing, maybe this can be forgotten quickly. I agree with you that this season has a very good chance of being a 0-fer season. I had thought 3 wins after the first game, but that seems to be unattainable now.

I'd like to see the Last Round Draft Picks up against this Cyclone team. That might be a good game.

I don't want to be too pessimistic, but I'm going to stay away from the TV/radio/internet next week during the Iowa game.

I just read that Kent St. lost to Kentucky by 36!! I'm going to forget that there's college football at all this year. Or, at least, I need another team to follow for a few months, or else this is going to get depressing. Any suggestions?

I recommend Michigan, I understand they are really kicking some ass this year... Or Notre Dame...

See it could be a lot worse, You could be pulling an o-fer when you were planning on a BCS bowl.

I expect UMass to have a fairly good season, if you wanna cheer for some "Playoff Division" football... hey, you could always think of it as a nice big screw-you to the BCS BS.

Looks like a nice birthday present from the Cyclones! That kicker has atoned for the miss against Mizzou a few years ago. Happy day-late birthday!

I can't wait to see this ISU-Iowa replay on the 'clone zone. I just finished watching the replay of the UNI game. We actually didn't look terrible. We had a handful of bad plays that were pretty costly and some missed opportunities, but ISU looked like the better team for a lot of the game. Offense worked well for the most part, but got into some come-from-behind play calling that they couldn't quite execute. Meyer, looks like he's throwing the ball harder than in previous years, but he's still got that sidearm throw that seems like it sails on him some.

I think we'll actually be in several games this year, don't know if we'll win many more, but I think we can compete.

And, oh yeah, Happy Birthday!
